OK, I converted my plugin to notify::caps (after all,
that was just a few lines of a change).
Believe it or not, but it still requires this patch,
both with gstreamer-0.10.31 and the latest git sources.
So I don't know when notify::caps used to work for you,
apparently not any recently.
