I stop the pipeline by sending it Gst.Event.new_eos() event then I wait for
five seconds and then set the state to NULL.

It is a crude mechanism in this case, but I wanted minimum outside influence.

The problem, however, is that with longer recordings my computer swaps out
before the pipeline is stopped.

I'll install debug packages a later today and try with those.
