I don't know - you tell me? I'm guessing you didn't make a patch for the 0.10
branch but just took the 1.0 patch and thought it would apply.

I don't care for it, but I will in rare circumstances apply a patch if someone
asks nicely and it looks important enough.

Rule #1: if you provide a patch, it should apply.
Rule #2: 0.10 is dead and no longer maintained, details can be found here:

Rule #3: there are no special rules, mostly just common sense.
