  GStreamer | gst-plugins-base | 1.2.1

Summary: Gapless playback is not gapless for mp3 and m4a (AAC)
    Classification: Platform
           Product: GStreamer
           Version: 1.2.1
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: Normal
         Component: gst-plugins-base
        AssignedTo: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
        ReportedBy: imruska at freemail.hu
         QAContact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
     GNOME version: ---

Since mp3 and m4a (AAC) encoded files did not play gaplessly in Amarok and
Clementine - both using GStreamer as a backend, whereas other formats - wav,
flac, ape, wavpack, alac, ogg (Vorbis) and opus - did, I checked with the
latest GStreamer release, and checked gst-play-1.0 file1 file2.

And I found the same result as using Clementine. With the exception of mp3 and
m4a (AAC), all formats were gapless.
The gap between mp3 and m4a (AAC) files is very short, but when listening to
continuous music, it is clearly audible.
The same mp3 files play back gaplessly using mpg123, and both mp3 and m4a (AAC)
files play back gaplessly in Foobar2000.
