Have you ever taken a look at what your CPU usage is on this PC with all the
pipelines active with 'top -H'?

Also, I sure that you can replicate the problem on a PC with only a single
soundcard, correct?  Otherwise, you would probably have not gone to the trouble
of puttly six PCI/PCIe soundcards in one PC.  <:-)
