They sent me over here from the Banshee list.
When I try to play *.mov files in Banshee, I get nothing but a skip to the next
file. In totem, I get a different problem, but essentially the same thing - it
won't play.
I'm running xubuntu 13.04 with xfce on a 64-bit machine.
I ran Banshee from the command line and got this error:
[1 Debug 18:07:55.264] OnEventChanged called with StartOfStream. Replacing
current_track with pending_track: "angel_lg"
[1 Debug 18:07:55.305] (libbanshee:player) bp_stop: setting state to

I copied the video off a music cd - it was one of those freebies on the music
cd contained on a data partition.
This is the output from mediainfo command:
adam at gondor:~/Videos$ mediainfo angel_lg.mov

I've tried playing it in totem but I just see this:
Since it won't play in totem, it's probably something to do with a common
library. Here's all the output that I managed to get from totem, just this line
repeated:
(totem:3269): Gtk-WARNING **: Calling Inhibit failed:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name
org.gnome.SessionManager was not provided by any .service files
