Could you please detail what fails?

Also be aware that you now need to commit the composition each time you make a
change in it (even though it will be done by derfault between READY and
PAUSED), look at the documentation for more details.

Also why don't you use GES? We have tested many scenarios with it, and seeking
definitely works, at least with basic cases.
