Thanks, I can reproduce some problem now (in gnome-shell), but I don't know if
it's the same.

Using xeyes I found that even if I use show-pointer=true, the ximagesink window
didn't actually ever show the pointer when it was in the xeyes window. It did
show a pointer when I was operating in the top left corner of the screen, as if
the xeyes window was actually at the top left of the screen. So more than
offset by a few pixels in my case.

Also, the ximagesink background wasn't right, showed some other/cached/nonsense
background.
