screenshot of memory leak after dragging the position slider back and forth for
about 30 seconds

I was trying to track down a memory leak in my program but soon found that it
only happens with AVCHD files which made me think it may be a memory leak
within GStreamer. I then tried the same file in Totem and noticed it has the
same issue.

Here are the steps to reproduce in Totem:

1. Open an AVCHD video file in Totem (I will try to attach one)
2. Pause the video
3. Open gnome-system-monitor and filter the processes list for totem
4. Drag the position slider back and forth while watching the memory usage of
totem in gnome-system-monitor

The memory usage will continue to climb until it eventually causes the program
to hang or crash
