I missed that bit about 1.4, sorry. If it's still reproducible with 1.4 then
please file a new bug with the relevant updated details (I think filing a new
one makes more sense than re-opening this one). Full debugging symbols for all
involved libraries would be good. Perhaps also run pidgin in valgrind to see if
it picks up anything.

The main problem for us is a way to reproduce this reliably, or narrow down the
cause at least.
