The reason for a stall would normally be that the upstream buffer pool is
exhausted (otherwise a deadlock).

I don't see obvious leak in that sample code, so I'll have to reproduce it.
Will do a little later, thanks for reporting, and special thanks for taking the
time to provide a sample application.
