Optimizations (malloc/free, adapter use)
A documentation of the fd protocol
Misc tweaks/improvements
Ignore allocation query
Pass protection meta (the only meta we support, as meta aren't generically
saveable/loadable as events and messages are, but new metas should be easier to
add using the new code)
