You're certain you updated?
Check line 3 of idiottest.mak: it should read
"if PLUGINS_USE_BUILDDIR"
what does it read?

Another check you could do is to do
$ grep PLUGINS_USE_SRC include/*
after updating: it shouldn't return anything.  If it does, email me the
output.
