Choppy? You mean blocky? That's probably divx5, which our snapshot of
ffmpeg cannot playback in some cases. HEAD fixes that, yes.

I'm waiting with a backport until I'm fully happy with it, though.
HEAD's ffmpeg has quite some issue, too.
