You can use the same set of keys on different machines. The regular way
of using this is to have "circles" of computers according to trust.
Ie, all hte machines I myself am the sole root user of, I trust to have
my main .ssh keyset.
For other machines from where I would develop (where for example someone
else is root), I would use a second set.
If you like, you can have different keys on each computer, and when you
log in to freedesktop you can add those other keys to the list of
authorized keys as well.
