Hmm, interesting...
See, I usually either justwant all sound, or no sound
in which case I end up with these redundant volume controls on all my
applications because I set their volume to full and use gnome-mixer to
deal with it.

I see your point and will forget I even brought it up.
Now if only there was a way to remove these useless volume controls.
