[gst-devel] gst-player performance

I was comparing the performance of the gst-player vs mplayer, and it
seems that mplayer is quite a bit faster/smoother than gst-player. I
have a number of mpeg1 & 4 files, and mplayer plays them beautifully.

gst-player plays mpeg1 files choppily, and doesn't play mpeg4 streams at
all (at least with the default gentoo install).

Is the choppiness a known issue, and if so, is there a way around it? Is
there an mpeg4 codec for gst-player?
