Well, given that
- the code has been running for a whole month here every day without
causing problems
- the code was posted a week ago for people to comment on, but nobody
did (so I assume nobody cares enough about it right now to actually use
it)
- the code is not in the main library, but as a helper lib
- the helper lib is not being used yet, and will only be used by the tcp
elements I'm about to commit

I don't really see what exactly you're concerned about.  Please tell me
what you think can go wrong.

If you want, I can wrap it in #ifdef GST_ENABLE_NEW_CODE (which is
something I think we might want to do for new stuff in general anyway).

If by "break" you mean "clean up the crap that crept into compile/link
flags, and having no idea about where these flags should go, thus
uncovering the problem", then I don't mind taking responsibility for
it.  Now if you want to contribute something constructive to this
particular problem, then please reply to thaytan's mail or to
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=142209 so we can fix it
properly.
