Ok, after running gst-register --gst-plugin-path=/usr/local/lib it found 5
more plugins including mad and it now works...

Question: Why is mad located somewhere other than the other 140 plugins?
How do I find out where gst-register thinks they are located at?

Thanks,

Scott

Subject: Mad Plugin installation problem

I am trying to get the helloworld sample application running. But everytime
I try to run it I get an error - "Could not find plugin -mad".

So I went back checked out the plugin list and sure enough it was not
registered. Went and got MAD library and libidtag from the mad sourceforge
site. Compiled and installed it. Re-ran the plugin
./configure
make
make install

This time it said it would compile and make the MAD plugin. It did indeed
compile the plug-in but a gst-inspect does not show it as as installed
plug-in. If I manually run the make file for the plug-in it still does not
work.

Any ideas why this plug-in is not getting installed?

I have successfully used gstreamer with an ogg file (custom program I am
working on).

Thanks in advance for all help.

Scott
