Capture audio output from another application

Hello

I would like to capture the audio output from a specific application to another application that displays the spectrogramm. Actually both apps work as standalone, but I would like to be able to link the output of the first one to the input of the second one. Is it possible? I have tried the 'alsasrc' element, but I can only get the input from the microphone...
