Gstreamer periodically EOS

Hey guys;

     I'm trying to send EOS periodically to create several .avi file. I can
do that with using thread and sleep() function. But i need more sensitive
function than sleep. Is there any function in gstreamer library for this
purpose? I searched a lot, but i couldnt find anything.
     I'm open for every suggestion and commend.
