GStreamer Pango not loading on OSX

After a bit of playing I have got the following error:

(process:4007): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type
'PangoFontMap'

(process:4007): GLib-CRITICAL **: void g_once_init_leave(volatile void *,
gsize): assertion 'result != 0' failed

(process:4007): Pango-CRITICAL **: void
pango_context_set_font_map(PangoContext *, PangoFontMap *): assertion
'!font_map || PANGO_IS_FONT_MAP (font_map)' failed

Is it due to not knowing where the fonts are? I'm not sure where exactly to
put them.
