<p>I am trying to implement a series of GTK+ buttons around the perimeter of a video stream that is rendering in a gst-xoverlay. The xoverlay auto centers itself and I'd like to put three buttons on the left and three buttons on the right.</p>

<br>Otherwise I would suggest trying to build prototypes in glade to get the spacing right. It will also help you in experimenting with different widgets, i.e. custom widgets with cairo rendering etc. <br><br>Good luck,<br>

<p>I have read how to create and pack buttons into boxes. The buttons are being created and become visible after you click on them. But they don't look very nice.</p>

<p>The gst-xoverlay documentation shows a special way of registering the window-id such that capturing events and mouse-clicks is more reliable. I am going to try and code that method.</p>
