I have been experiencing a problem with hal on my dell inspiron 9200
laptop. It completely hangs the system... not a panic and nothing
useful in the logs. I have tried 0.4.0 - 0.4.7, same results. However,
I also have a compaq laptop configured the same and hal works fine.

Distro: Specifix Linux
Kernel: 2.6.8,2.6.9,2.6.10 (nearly vanilla)
udev: 039
hotplug: 2004_03_29-5-1

Here is the output I get with --verbose=yes

Feb 17 11:33:24 kvandine hald: 11:33:24.577 [I] hald.c:394: hal 0.4.7
Feb 17 11:33:24 kvandine fstab-sync[3435]: removed all generated mount
points
Feb 17 11:33:24 kvandine hald: 11:33:24.578 [I] hald.c:396: Will daemonize
Feb 17 11:33:24 kvandine hald: 11:33:24.578 [I] hald.c:406: Becoming a
daemon
Feb 17 11:37:09 kvandine syslogd 1.4.1: restart.

The syslogd restart happened after i powered off.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
--Ken
