How to configure mount options for autodetected drives?

After searching through the HAL config files, I believe I figured out
how to do this. Adding the following line in storage-policy.fdi
under the vfat match statement seems to work:

    <merge key="volume.policy.mount_option.shortname=mixed" type="bool">true</merge>

Please advise if this is not the best way to do it.

Thanks,
-Dave
