This thread seems to have died off so I though I'd get it going again by
presenting a patch.

This uses the platform id string to determine that the device is a
floppy. Shouldn't be a risk of this changing too often since this is how
the device is identified internally in the kernel. Will also allow it to
be independent of how udev decides to name the device node.
