It's a bit silly to do that yes, we'll assume distributions unzip this
themselves in packages until upstream changes back to sane behavior.

I've fixed this.

Good stuff, thanks for the feedback!

For the record, there's now a hal-0_5_8-branch (yes, I know git
supports . in branches but I'm just sticking to conventions) where I've
put some other fixes too (git-cherry-pick is just soo awesome!), will do
a 0.5.8.1 release at some point later this week.
