inconsistent lid button state

Hi;

After i closed and opened the lid of my laptop (Sony Vaio FS-215B), HAL will 
still think the lid is closed so other softwares relay on that info 
misbehaves but at the same time /proc/acpi/button/lid/LID0/state shows 
correct values,
