laptop key quirks

Hi,
I need a little help in order to make sense of keyboard quirks.

I have HP dv6426 laptop and it has 2 keys that show up in dmesg log,
but standard media keys (next, previous, play, volume up/down) aren't.

The problem is that those keys are configured wrong so "Stop" button
lovers the volume and some keys don't work.

How can I find out their scancodes and how do I label them in:
/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/30-keymap-hp.fdi ?

If I understood the quirks page the idea is to edit keymap files so
that all keys JustWork on laptops. On mine most work but aren't
configred correctly and 2 aren't recognized. I would like to help and
fix this issue so that on Fedora 9 all my buttons work "Out of the
box" after install.

What are the names for "Next", "Previous", "Play/pause", "Stop",
"Mute", "Vol Up" and "Vol Down" buttons?

Cheers,
Valent.
