I was able to use the text mode for the install and change the run level at first boot to install a new kernel with yum. Once I was in the gui I edited fstab with gedit and saved the file. On the next boot I found that the system could not see this file. With the repair program I was able to look in the file system but could not find the file. I have two computers running Fedora 4 one a i386 and this one running the 64 bit version. Except for this they are setup the same. I used the i386 computer to help me in editing the fstab. I started an install of Fedora 4 and reinstalled the fstab file and backed out. I did not format any of the drives and was able to start the Gui again. Fstab is still messed up. How should I fix did problem as now I can not use my CDRW drive.
