<div dir="ltr">I understand that with some effort the desired behavior of the 'init' feature can be achieved by different means, but I'm not sure this was the intention of the standard. Furthermore, the 'init' is just one example. The 'jalt' feature can be useful too, and there are tens of other features available in advanced fonts. <br>

</div>The font designer can do that. That's not the problem. Knowing that you're<br>
start/end of word is something that the shaper can help with.<br>
