<pre>Hmm, ok. My suspicion was based on the non-working intel_reg_dump having the
fbcon attached to the scanout, so I presumed that X failed leaving the system
in disarray. Can you (blindly) regrab that intel_reg_dump after X starts? (Or
use ssh.)</pre>
