One very effective way to accelerate the appearence of the issues (which may
help debugging) seems to be using libreoffice draw/impress. Drawing large
shapes (or even better importing large bitmaps) and then selecting them causes
a sort of a grid to be drawn over the shapes and then to be erased after the
object is not anymore selected. Doing this a few times is often sufficient to
cause incorrect drawing or erasing of the grid or incorrect redrawing of the
image under the grid.
