I completely understand that the recent graphic chips (Haswell etc.) have much higher priority and that there are probably not much people left who use the old Thinkpad X30. Still, it would be very nice if this annoying bug could be fixed. I'm on vacations until the end of August, such that I can compile and test patches when needed. Am I correct that drm-intel-next is the right branch to test? Then at least for Ubuntu the kernel builds should be in <a href="http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/">http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/drm-intel-next/</a> and I could apply Daniel's patches to the i915 module on top of that builds as I did before.
