/var/log/xorg.0.log.old from boot without nomodeset, with acpi_osi="!Windows
2012"
This is a 'flipping' touch screen Dell XPS-12 running a fresh install of Fedora
19 from install media (not live media), yum updated as of 2013.09.09 including
testing releases and current testing kernel, same results with non-testing
kernel and with kernel 3.11.0-3.fc20.x86_64. Booting from UEFI without secure
boot.
Boots OK with nomodeset in kernel parameters (will not resume from suspend; not
sure this is related).
With nomodeset removed, comes up with black screen after selecting boot from
grub2.
With acpi_backlight=vendor boot parameter, black screen problem goes away,
encryption screen works, 'f bubble' on boot (or boot messages after pressing
'esc') visible, but hangs on boot.
After searching, tried boot parameters:
acpi_osi=Linux does not help.
acpi_osi="!Windows 2012" does not help. (attached xorg.0.log.old from this
trial)
i915.modeset=1 does not help.
Tried installing rpm-fusion and mesa-dri-drivers:
$ yum list installed | grep mesa
mesa-dri-drivers.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
mesa-filesystem.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
mesa-libEGL.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
mesa-libGL.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
mesa-libGLU.x86_64 9.0.0-2.fc19 @fedora
mesa-libgbm.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
mesa-libglapi.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
mesa-libxatracker.x86_64 9.2-1.20130902.fc19 @updates-testing
no change after installing these.
