<pre>so I believe xrandr is sorting this out, running it manually:
king@hpmini:~$ xrandr --output LVDS1 --off
king@hpmini:~$ xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto
seems to get rid of the vertical lines.
"If you try 3.12/3.13 do we get any more warnings about inconsistent hw state?"
.. I can test with 3.13 later today, but how do I check for inconsistent hw
