When I plug in an external monitor, xranrd shows it as connected to DP2, regardless of whether it's connected to DP1, DP2, DVI or HDMI. On one occasion, I have been able to get a mirror output on both DP1 and DP2 (still after 1-2 min of freezing), even though xrandr still showed only DP2 as being connected. I have been unable to reproduce that partial success since. During the freeze, Xorg keeps using a steady 20% CPU, but any attempt at attaching gdb to the Xorg process only resulted in gdb feezing (had to kill -9 it).
