<pre>Bizarre, I still can't see how we would get a NULL pointer dereference there.
Can you please look into changing the configure line within the package build
script to include --enable-debug and reinstall? That will add assertion checks
which might help catch the issue earlier. Most helpful would be to add
--enable-debug=full, but that might prevent the bug entirely.</pre>
