I randomly had Xorg seize up while using a web browser. The mouse pointer
still updated.
I got this message in dmesg asking me to file a bug report:
Jul 5 17:42:53 cayenne kernel: [74020.869279] [drm] stuck on render ring
Jul 5 17:42:53 cayenne kernel: [74020.869287] [drm] GPU crash dump saved to
/sys/class/drm/card0/error
Jul 5 17:42:53 cayenne kernel: [74020.869288] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a
bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
Jul 5 17:42:53 cayenne kernel: [74020.869289] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug
report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
Jul 5 17:42:53 cayenne kernel: [74020.869290] [drm] drm/i915 developers can
then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
Jul 5 17:42:53 cayenne kernel: [74020.869291] [drm] The gpu crash dump is
required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
Jul 5 17:42:59 cayenne kernel: [74026.875107] [drm] stuck on render ring
Jul 5 17:43:09 cayenne kernel: [74036.875500] [drm] stuck on render ring
This is using Linux Mint Petra with a mainline kernel:
Linux cayenne 3.14.8-031408-lowlatency #201406161755 SMP PREEMPT Mon Jun 16

Attached is the output of drm/card0/error.</pre>
