KDE 4 would hang on the loading screen as soon as the Skype login sound played. I could login into KDE 5 because Skype wasn't autostarting there. Some applications were working fine like mintupdate and Opera 12, others like Skype, Firefox, Dolphin or Synaptic would lock up everything. When pressing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace I sometimes shortly saw the applications I started before going back to the login screen.
