<pre>So looks like there is fixed overhead for each ioctl in the failure case (from
6us to 100us).
Could this just be related to kernel debug options? But then it would not be so
sporadic.
If you can find a way to reproduce it consistently, the overhead should show up
in a perf profile.</pre>
