Jani Nikula, the issue was not about backlight resume. The original report was
about hibernate/resume, but that is solved.
In fact, the backlight issue does not have anything to do with resume, but only
with dpms off/on.
To reproduce my problem, you only need to
xset dpms force off && sleep 10 && xset dpms force on</pre>
