<pre>I think we have to be honest here and admit that it's very unlikely we'll ever
fix this. Apparently the firmware does something on boot that we somehow rely
on, but it doesn't work later on.
Best change for getting this resolved might be to boot with modesetting
disabled with the vesa driver and see whether that works. If so, single step
through it. But that's not really something we can do over here.</pre>
