Sorry, I should clarify our setup and result here:
Monitor Dock Connector on Dock
Pass: DP <-> Synaptic-DP-hub <-> DP
Failed: VGA <-> Synaptic-DP-hub <-> VGA (built-in VGA/DP dongle)
I'm not sure the result of following setup:
Monitor Converter Dock Connector on Dock
DP <-> ext. DP-to-VGA dongle <-> Synaptic-DP-hub <-> VGA
VGA <-> ext. VGA-to-DP dongle <-> Synaptic-DP-hub <-> DP</pre>
