<pre>A pointer isn't a scalar value. It's a pointer. But clearly you don't care
about correctness, so if your intent is "return true if not NULL" I'll just
patch it locally to actually do that. But for the life of me I can't understand
why you don't want the code to be correct in the first place.</pre>
