Changing the line to force the mode seems to work:
$ xrandr --verbose -q -d :0 --output DP1 --mode 1920x1080 --gamma 1.0:1.0:1.0
--auto --right-of HDMI2
screen 0: 5760x1080 1525x286 mm 95.92dpi
crtc 2: 1920x1080 60.0 +3840+0 "DP1"
If I switch to console and back it stops working until I run those two commands
again (off/on with forced resolution). Going into gnome system settings kills
the screen output probably for similar reasons since whatever its picking up as
the default mode apparently doesn't work properly.
