would be interesting to know which DDI port it's connected to. A not so wild
guess: DDI E (what used to be the DDI for the FDI link to PCH). We don't
currently have code that initializes and support DDI E (hot plug interrupts,
lane sharing with DDI A, ...).
What would help is a register dump of what the BIOS does. To do that, you need
to boot the machine disabling the i915 driver (for instance, don't set
i915.preliminary_hw_support and boot in runlevel 3), run intel-gpu-tools'
./tools/quick_dump/quick_dump.py and attach the results here.
