I really appreciate your effort in trying to find a solution for this.
Unfortunately, the situation with the patch is not very promising :-(
After booting with that kernel + commandline option, I see only the acpi_video0
driver indeed. However, changing the brightness has no effect (the actual
screen brightness doesn't change).
After suspend / resume, the backlight is off. And closing / reopening the lid
doesn't bring it back on.</pre>
