<pre>I have tried kernel 4.1.0 that was just released and the warnings are still
there.
For now, I use the Fedora kernel patch called
drm-i915-Disable-verbose-state-checks.patch
to tone down these messages from scary backtraces to one-line DRM_ERRORs.</pre>
