<pre>Ok I've finally got a new TV up in my living room and time to try some of this
debuggging.. it took a while to get everything built and installed but I
finally got there tonight :)
FYI the old hack was still working just fine.
I can get the display to fail by just changing the TV from HDMI1 to HDMI2 when
connected through the AVR.
I've attached the log to the issue.
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo sh -c "echo
'*********************************************************************' >
/dev/kmsg"
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo service lightdm restart
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo sh -c "echo LIGHTDM IS UP ALL OK > /dev/kmsg"
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo sh -c "echo SWITCHING FROM HDMI1 to HDMI2 on TV >
/dev/kmsg"
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo sh -c "echo HDMI2 enabled on TV.. as in NOT the input used
from linux > /dev/kmsg"
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo sh -c "echo SWITCHING FROM HDMI2 to HDMI1 on TV >
/dev/kmsg"
lucas@tvbox:~$ sudo sh -c "echo HDMI1 enabled and TV is blank. no display! >
/dev/kmsg"
these are my text markers..</pre>
